Description
This is a very substantial wooden tea caddy (natsume) with Kasahara-yama inscribed on the lid. #See more items in my tableware collection here.

The beautiful natural wood grain is highlighted by a bold carving technique that intentionally leaves chisel marks on the surface.
The beauty of the wood grain stands out, and the interior is also carefully crafted. It is finished with wiped lacquer, and the more you use it, the more it will develop a lustrous sheen.

There are a few spots on the surface that look like accumulated lacquer (urushi-tame), which are characteristic of the wiped lacquer process during manufacturing.

It also makes a statement as a small item container or interior decoration.

Height: approx. 13 cm Diameter: approx. 5 cm

There are scuffs around the rim from opening and closing the lid.

There are scuffs and sticker residue on the bottom.
