This is Matsusaka Cotton, Miito-ori, pure indigo dye.

Miito-ori is a traditional hand-woven cotton fabric produced in and around Meiwa Town, Taki District, Mie Prefecture.

Meiwa Town is also a historic area where the Saiku, the palace of the Saio (an imperial princess who served Ise Grand Shrine), was located, and it has a long history of flourishing textile culture, including linen, silk, and cotton.

Features:
* **Hand-woven texture:** Each piece is carefully woven by artisans and inheritors using traditional takabata (high looms).

* **Beautiful stripe patterns:** Many feature cotton threads dyed in subdued colors such as indigo, creating traditional stripes and checks.

* **Excellent absorbency and breathability unique to cotton, becoming softer and more familiar to the skin with use.**

This item has been stored for a considerable length of time, so there are some stains (especially on the front side in photo 2; the inside is mostly clean) and wrinkles. However, due to the indigo dye, there are no signs of insect damage.

The length was roughly measured to be about 22 meters, but it is likely over 20 meters.
